Uncertainty whether the PV system meets current legislation

Since NV 114/2023 came into effect, requirements for the DC side of photovoltaic systems have tightened. Older installations may not comply, and the operator bears responsibility for the safety of equipment and personnel.

Inspections are performed by Jiří Cach, a certified electrical inspector according to NV 194/2022 §8 with certificate scope E2A and E3A. The certificate is valid for 3 years and its renewal is subject to regular re-examination.

How often must a company perform a PV system inspection?+

The specific periodic inspection interval is determined by the environment in which the PV system operates and the nature of the equipment. We always base this on applicable ČSN standards and decrees. For commercial installations, we recommend consulting intervals individually.

Does NV 114/2023 apply to older photovoltaic power plants?+

Yes. This government regulation sets requirements for designated technical equipment, including PV systems, and applies to existing installations as well. During the inspection, we verify compliance with current regulations, and if an older installation does not comply, we will propose necessary measures.

What does the PV system DC side inspection involve?+

The DC side is the highest-risk part of a PV system from a safety perspective. We check the condition of panels, cable routes, connectors, disconnectors, and protective devices. We measure insulation resistance and verify that the installation is protected against overvoltage and short circuits.

Can you perform a PV system inspection and a lightning protection system and electrical installation inspection at the same time?+

Yes, that is one of our main advantages. In a single visit, we can handle the PV system, lightning protection system, and building electrical installation inspection. You save time and money and get complete documentation from one supplier.

What if the inspection reveals defects?+

We classify each defect by severity and state a proposed rectification deadline in the report. Upon request, we can arrange the repair or recommend a suitable procedure. The equipment must not be operated until defects preventing safe operation are rectified.

What is the indicative price of a PV system inspection for a company?+

The price depends on the installed capacity, number of inverters, extent of cabling, and documentation availability. For smaller rooftop installations, the amount is typically in the thousands of CZK, for larger premises PV systems in the higher thousands. We will provide the exact price after a non-binding inquiry.
