Common situations

You lack an overview of the condition of company appliances

Dozens of appliances accumulate in offices, workshops, and facilities – from kettles and extension cords to drills and grinders. Without systematic records and regular checks, you easily lose track of what is safe and what should no longer be used.

Risk of sanctions for non-compliant condition

Operating electrical equipment that has not undergone an inspection can lead to penalties from the labour inspectorate. Sanctions for breaching occupational safety obligations can reach up to 2,000,000 CZK according to Act No. 251/2005 Coll.

You handle inspections randomly and chaotically

Without an established system, appliance inspections easily become a confusing matter – someone does them, someone doesn't, deadlines are missed. The result is legal uncertainty and the risk that you won't have the necessary documents during an audit or insurance claim.

Employees use their own appliances without checks

Employees' private appliances often find their way into company premises – fans, heaters, chargers. Employer obligations also apply to these if they are used in the workplace. Without their documentation and inspection, you bear the risk.

We are authorized for inspections of designated technical electrical equipment and also understand related standards including ČSN 33 1600 ed.2.

Frequently asked questions

How often must appliance inspections be performed?+

Intervals are set by ČSN 33 1600 ed.2 and vary according to the appliance group and the environment in which it is used. For example, hand-held tools on construction sites or in workshops are subject to more frequent checks than office equipment in a normal environment. We will go through the specific intervals for your equipment with you and set them according to actual operation.

What exactly must undergo an inspection?+

All electrical appliances and hand-held power tools used at work must undergo an inspection – from computers, printers, and kettles to extension cables, drills, grinders, and other workshop equipment. The obligation also applies to employees' private appliances if they are used in the workplace.

Will we receive any document after the inspection?+

Yes, after the inspection is completed, we issue an inspection report containing a list of all checked equipment, measurement and test results, dates of next inspections, and an overall evaluation. This document serves as evidentiary material for a potential labour inspectorate audit or for insurance purposes.

How does an inspection work for a larger company with many appliances?+

After agreeing on a date, we come to you and perform inspections systematically by individual sections, floors, or departments. We strive to work in a way that minimally disrupts your normal operations. We label each appliance with a tag and enter it into the records. We provide volume discounts for larger quantities.

Can we perform appliance inspections ourselves?+

Inspections and checks can only be performed by a person with appropriate professional competence – an electrician (§6 according to NV 194/2022) or a certified electrical inspector (§8). An ordinary employee without this qualification cannot perform inspections, even for seemingly simple appliances. If you do not have your own qualified worker, we will handle everything.

What happens if an appliance fails the inspection?+

An appliance that does not meet the standard's requirements is clearly marked as non-compliant, and we recommend its immediate removal from service. The reason for non-compliance will be stated in the inspection report. It is your responsibility to ensure that such an appliance is no longer used – repair is possible, but it must be carried out by a qualified person and the appliance must pass a new inspection.
